Overview of Piercing Release Forms App v3.0+

PRF is a fully customizable digital release form/waiver app for the piercing industry, on the App Store since 2014. Designed collaboratively by industry veterans and coded by a top-tier code ninja, PRF generates and uploads paperless waivers to your cloud as searchable, printable PDFs for single-piercer shops or multi-studio chains.

What is PRF?

Developed by Conan Lea with expert guidance from world-class piercer Steve Truitt and engineered by top-tier developer Klejdi Hoxha, PRF replaces traditional paper waivers with a seamless, paperless workflow. It securely generates, stores, and organizes client waivers as searchable, printable PDFs—perfect for both solo piercers and multi-studio chains.

Why Choose PRF?

  • Designed for Piercers: Built with direct industry insight to meet real-world studio needs by Conan Lea and Steve Truitt. Look them up; they're legit.

  • Fully Customizable: Tailor the app to suit individual piercers or large studio franchises.

  • Scalable & Flexible: Whether you're a single piercer or a multi-location franchise, PRF can scale effortlessly to match your business size.

  • Legally Sound & Efficient: Automates client consent forms while ensuring legal compliance and easy record-keeping.

PRF App Flows

PRF is designed for seven different types of users, each with specific needs. To simplify navigation, the app organizes its interface into flows—sequences of screens that guide users by role. These flows provide necessary access while minimizing the learning curve.

The Nine PRF Flows

  1. PRF App Initial Setup Flow – Guides studios through initial configuration.

  2. Main Menu Flow – Central navigation for all app functions.

  3. New Client Flow – Handles first-time client waivers.

  4. Piercing Minors Flow – Handles Minors and their Guardians.

  5. Piercer Notes Pane Flow – Allows piercers to document client notes.

  6. Save for Later Flow – Lets piercers save waivers in progress.

  7. Returning Client Flow – Streamlines waiver retrieval for returning clients.

  8. PRF Cloud Folder Flow – Provides access to waivers securely stored on the studio cloud.

  9. Settings Flow – Allows customization and system adjustments.

Settings Flow

PRF app Settings are arranged into an intuitive flow based on the feedback of thousands of studios across the globe. While PRF is feature-rich, you'd never know it by looking under the hood. Naturally, we think like artists, so non-techy thinking is how we organize PRF Settings.

Piercer Notes Pane Flow

The Piercer Notes Pane in PRF app is where the piercer checks client inputs for accuracy and health information, lists jewelry used in the piercing process, adds personal notes about the session, and attaches images of pertinent documents.

Save For Later Flow

In the making of a PRF waiver, both client and piercer add data. Between client and piercer inputs, the waiver can be paused by tapping SAVE FOR LATER. This feature sets the unfinished waiver aside to be completed later, and resets the app for the next client.

New Client Flow

Piercing clients make their own waivers with PRF app without help from studio staff. The client steps up to the iPad, photographs her ID, and is led by the app through a smooth-flowing info-gathering interface.

Returning Client Flow

For returning clients, Piercing Release Forms App fast-tracks each subsequent waiver submission to a sub-ten-second experience with a new date. Too easy.

The PRF-Made Waiver: Example and Explanation

The PDF waiver assembled by PRF app is a clean, organized legal document presenting text and full-color images of IDs, Birth Certificates, client notes, and other attached supporting documents. It contains data gathered from the piercing client, piercer, and studio, all searchable in your cloud—not ours.

PRF Cloud Folder Flow

PRF app-generated waivers are PDFs that are easily stored, searchable, and downloadable. The PRF Cloud Folder Flow lives on your cloud and is how you share waiver information with health departments and legal teams.

Initial Setup Flow

Getting PRF set up for your shop is quick and painless—especially when you have your shop info, cloud credentials, and local health department requirements ready before you start.

Main Menu Flow

The PRF Main Menu gives access to the primary setup and maintenance of the app, including settings, purchases, knowledge base, support, an example PRF waiver, release notes, and our privacy policy.
